Kiln Information

Rohde Kiln

  • DDPC has two electric kilns available for use by members only.
    1. Rohde Kiln:  This front-loading kiln is designed for long-term and continuous use at temperatures up to 1290°C which makes it suitable for applications such as bisque, earthenware, onglaze and stoneware firing as well as high-temperature stoneware, soft paste porcelain firings. These applications correspond to Seger Cone 8 or Orton Cone 9.

All members must attend Kiln Training BEFORE use of the club kilns. We all have a responsibility  to care or our equipment properly and protect our club investments.

KILN FEES:  Each kiln load fee is $70, regardless of kiln used, content or cycle. Kiln Hire can be paid via the links below or at the Gallery during Gallery Hours.

SHARED KILN LOADS can be organised between club members:

  • Feel free to make a post in the Members Only Facebook group. It can be found by clicking here.
  • Shared kiln load split payments can be made to the Gallery Duty volunteer during Gallery Hours (Fri/Sat 10am-3pm)
