We have various clays available for purchase by Members and the general public alike. Please use these details as a general guide only; be sure to follow all specific instructions detail on your clay manufacturer’s packaging.

White Raku 12.5kg Widely used for a multitude of different applications – not limited to Raku temperatures. This versatile clay can be fired to stoneware. With a large content of fine grog, it retains excellent plasticity making it suitable for larger work. Great working properties for coiling, hand building and slab work. This body burnishing well due to its fine clay base.

Classic fine white stoneware exhibiting beautiful creaminess and is our ever-reliable robust white stoneware. It is sieved through 120# so is beautifully fine. It has a firing range of 1240-1300 and vitrifies at 1240 . It is a bit creamier and more open than PB103 so can soften a bit while throwing. A lovely soft cream white and eminently suitable for all domestic and production ware as well as hand building. Suits most standard stoneware glazes. Mid Fire 33 12.5kg A versatile clay body with excellent throwing properties. Much the same as our popular Stoneware 33 body but for Cone 6/Mid Fire temperature. It has a light buff colour when fired and a beautiful iron fleck.

KEANE Clay Mid Fire No 6 White 12.5kg Keane Mid Fire No 6 is a smooth white plastic body great for domestic ware and medium size hand building. It has an excellent glaze fit with all commercial mid fire glazes. The feel and smoothness of this clay makes it ideal for throwing. Toast 12.5kg Bisque Cone 06 – 1000c Glaze Cone 03 to 10 1100c-1300c Toast is a versatile iron-bearing clay body that has been developed for hand-building. Toast can be thrown however due to the course nature could be challenging for beginners. Heavily grogged with a range of particle sizes that add that ad to the rich visual texture. Primarily formulated for oxidation firing atmospheres for its lovely warm buff colour, Toast is also attractive fired in reduction producing a dark chocolate mottle.

12.5kg Bisque Cone 06 -1000c Glaze between Cone 03-10 1100 – 1300c A buff raku, good for larger hand-built forms. Excellent coiling, joining and throwing properties. This clay is similar in grog content to white raku. A popular choice for its fired warmth over a wide range of temperatures. Produces beautiful results in reduction atmospheres.
